I have a '88 Savage - Canadian version - with lights always on. That causes a problem when starting the engine and the battery is weak. I decided to swirtch off the lights by replacing the right hand switch with an "european" one - it has additional triposition switch - 1-st position is lights off ( what I need when starting the engine ), 2-nd position is position lights on,headlights off; and 3-rd position is headlights on. The problem is that the simpler (original righthand switch)switch has 7 wires going out of it and the more complex "european" one (with addition to the original switch a tri-wire switch for headlights and position lights) has only 6 wirs going out of the switch. Can somebody with "european" bikes send me the wiring diagram (in my Clymer manualit is only US version (my current) of the diagram)?
Best wishes,
Miroslav
